This week’s ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the New Balance MRL996EW in White.  The retro reissued 996 appears in an uncompromisingly clean monochrome palette.  The 996 has appeared in a host of builds and colour-ups in more recent times, but none as minimally crisp as the all white rendition dropping just in time for summer.

The New Balance 996 originally hit retailers as a road specific runner, and instantly became New Balances’ best selling style, gaining critical acclaim through its superior support and cushioning.  The comfortable running tooling has made the 996 a popular street-ready silhouette as of late, with 25th anniversary offerings last year furthering the popularity of the classic road runner.

The New Balance MRL996EW is decked in smooth leather; adorning the entire upper, including the panelling and stitching creating fluidity throughout the silhouette.  The ’N’ sidewall branding appears in a tonal cut of leather, with further New Balance call-outs on the tongue, heel tab and external heel counter.

Below the premium leather upper panelling is the latest edition of the Revlite midsole; for reduced weight and a softer ride.  The timeless all white palette places emphasis on the luxury materials applied on the Summer 2015 rendition of the 996.
