Vanguard label and collective Life and Death are to release a Various Artists EP next month.

Some Things Rise contains music from Glasgow’s Sei A, Hotflush Recordings boss Scuba, Dystopian’s Alex.Do and Turbo and Hotflush signee Locked Groove.

The Life and Death is a global brand with projects in Berlin, Rome, New York and Miami, putting out an eclectic range of house, techno and dark pop music from the likes of DJ Tennis, Thugfucker, Mind Against, Woo York, Somne and Stephan Bodzin. They cite a range of influences from across genres and counter-cultures as helping them to create groundbreaking new releases that homage the past without recycling old sounds.

Each track is a belter and could easily stand up as an individual release, kicking off with Sei A’s dark and menacing opener Hyper Venom, and gradually taking off track by track through Locked Groove’s triumphant Eleven, Scuba’s refracting Glacial and Alex.Do’s expertly woven and appropriately named Rising.

For now, you can listen to snippets of all 4 tracks on the forthcoming EP below. Some Things Rise is out on digital formats August 3rd, whilst the 12″ is expected to fly out on September 25th.
