This Bristol based duo have continued to go from strength to strength with a whole host of releases and their ‘Elite’ EP on the massive Black Butter records imprint. What has My Nu Leng been up to as of late?
Really busy with production and gigging at the moment, and really enjoying it all!
How did your name come about?
Our first release came about when we didn’t really have a name and had to choose one fairly quickly. It was suggested as a joke, quite tongue in cheek and it just stuck!
What’s your favourite track at the moment?
Probably DjRum – Honey
What is your favourite track of all time?
J – Earth, Wind & Fire – Lets Groove
T- Anything off Original Pirate Material!
What was the first vinyl you ever bought?
Silver Bullet – Chemissinyadiss
What music was played in your house when you were growing up?
J – Deacon Blue, Pink Floyd, Steeley Dan, Santana, Jeff Wayne.
T- Lots of Electronic 80’s
Who are your inspirations in music?
DjRum, Burial, Early garage and grime!
Who would you like to collaborate with?
Eats Everything springs to mind – Can imagine the studio session being a lot of fun!
Whose sets do you like to catch at a rave or on radio?
We try and catch Oneman and Redlight’s Rinse shows and and Ben UFO, Indigo and Pinch have always been stand outs at a rave.
What’s been the highlight for you guys so far?
Our first EP on Black Butter, and being part of the label. We are very excited about our future with them!

What does My Nu Leng like to drink?
Brandy or Beer.
What are your favourite past times outside of music?
Watch films and play Uncharted.
3 things you always carry on you?
Wallet, Ear Plugs and Cigarettes.
What’s your biggest fuck up/embarrassing moment?
Same for most DJ’s probably – Pulling the wrong tune back.

What’s next in the pipeline for you guys?
We have a few remixes forthcoming (Foamo – Sherlock / Naughty Boy – Lalala (feat. Sam Smith)) and are working on the last few tracks of our follow up EP on Black Butter!
