Dusky – ‘Nobody Else’ – Aus Music

‘Nobody Else’ EP on Will Saul’s Aus Music, marks London based duo Dusky’s first release for 2013. This time around they come armed with four well-crafted tracks, demonstrating more outstanding material to the masses. Dusky aka Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman continue where they left off last year, after a series of solid EPs and remixes for Andre Crom, Cloud 9 and Hot Chip, not forgetting their excellent take on Justin Martin’s ‘Don’t Go’ on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird label.

The pair’s distinctive blend of House & Garage with Techno themes has helped them gain support from established names in different scenes, from Pete Tong to Jamie Jones, to more bass driven DJ’s such as Boddika, Loefah and Hannah Wants. ‘Nobody Else’ EP sees Dusky continue to do exactly what they do best, drawing for their seductive pitched down vocal sample techniques, rolling grooves, sitting effortlessly alongside piercing basslines, all built with the intent to work the dancefloor. ‘Dummy’ is my pick of the EP, with its moody bass growls, garage-tingled vibes and eerie mystical pads, makes this a winner for me. ‘Nobody Else’ EP is available now on Aus Music.
