Though the practical qualities of coloured vinyl are often debated, no one can deny that they’re great to look at.

Colored Vinyl Records has turned their appreciation for the colorful pressings into something productive, putting together an archive of coloured, collectible and picture disc vinyl, showing off the massive creative possibilities, and sometimes extreme lengths people have gone to in creating their collectible records.

You can search by color, type, format, genre, music style, artist, label and year of release with the results set out beautifully, finished off with spinning animations and a handy link to the release’s Discogs page, should you want to add it to your collection.

They’re selection of picture discs is particularly interesting, and includes Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’, Quasimoto’s ‘Talkin Shit’ and Public Enemy’s ‘Harder Than You Think’ to name just a few.

If you’d like to contribute, you’re invited by the team to add your own colored vinyl records to the collection or share pictures of your copies by uploading them to the image gallery of a particular release.
