Dusky are set to release a new 4 track EP on their 17 Steps imprint.

Cold Heart arrives at the end of June, containing four tracks spanning Dusky’s unique range of house and techno soundscapes.

The title track nods towards old school New York house music through a carefully sourced vocal sample, blending tight percussion, soulful hooks and a hypnotic lead organ. Elsewhere on the EP Psychic Life Coach comes correct with “dubby grooves, skippy drums and ethereal vocal cut-ups” whilst Bowed blends disco and rave influences to great effect. Balfour Betty rounds off the Cold Heart EP nicely, meeting at an intersection between progressive trance and Detroit techno.

Since Alfie and Nick released their debut album Outer last August they’ve delivered their second acclaimed Essential Mix and toured an impressive new live show. Their label platform has become home to a slew of quality 12″s, as well as 12 track compilation of modern house & techno music Floor To Floor.  Alongside the duo’s own productions, 17 Steps has released music from Velvit and Christian Piers, with remixes from the likes of LTJ Bukem, Benton, Hodge and Paleman.
