For 2014 Clarks Originals have recruited two ‘Pioneers’ to represent the brand through capsule releases.  The first ‘Pioneer’ confirmed for 2014 is MF DOOM, who teamed up with Lex Records in 2012 and began working on a unique collaborative project for Clarks Originals.  DOOM’s first task as a ‘Pioneer’ was to co-create an update of his favourite Clark’s Original silhouette; choosing the Wallabee, a style that has a deep rooted heritage within Hip-Hop.

For this Spring/Summer 2014 Capsule release, DOOM has updated the iconic Wallabee with paramount quality materials.  Butter soft grained brown leather sourced from UK tannery Steads has been expertly applied to the upper of the Wallabee, delicately folded over at the heel to reveal and interior suede panel.  The stitching around the toe box is constructed from a unique light reflective 3M material, with the same detailing subtly worked on to the brown striped laces, sitting above an iconic Clarks crepe sole. The lining of the Wallabee DOOM is a repeated custom mask pattern material appearing in a tonal cream and grey palette, accented with the red ruby in featured in the mask graphic.  Each insole is embossed with a genuine MF DOOM signature taken from a scanned in version that hasn’t been touched up, leaving the ink splatters present on the detail.

Rounding up the premium capsule release Wallabee is an embossed DOOM mask applied to heel and the classic fob that comes with every pair of Clarks Wallabees has been re-approached with a DOOM throw embossed on the reverse.  The custom box was designed by collectively by Lex Records and MF DOOM, featuring an all over DOOM mask graphic embossed on the lid, with the offical DOOM throw and custom Haiku by DOOM printed onto the sides of the shoe box. The Wallabee DOOMs will be available in-store and online on the 14th of February 2014 at Clarks Originals retailer Wellgosh in extremely limited numbers.
