We’ve teamed up with online store Wellgosh to provide you with their current favourite “Trainer Of The Week” to feature on our blog and in our weekly newsletter. There are no other rules other than we have to feature a new style each week and give a description of why it’s their “Trainer Of The Week”. To find out more about Wellgosh click HERE.
This week’s ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the Nike Air Max 1 Mid Deluxe Quickstrike in Black/Blackroot Brown. The seasonal update in the iconic Nike runner appears in a Winter ready mid-top build, equipped for elemental protection for the remaining cold months of Winter.
The Nike Air Max 1 was the first runner to utilise visible Air-Sole cushioning, originally hitting shelves in 1987. Tinker Hatfield designed the revolutionary running style with Parisian architecture as the key inspiration. The Air cushioning in the sole was greeted with criticism when it dropped, but despite scepticism the visible Air unit gained the shoe acclaim, so much that Nike reissued the style as a retro release in 1992.
The Nike Air Max 1 Mid Deluxe appears as a mid-top silhouette dropping under the Quickstrike tier, following up the first mid-top rendition of the Air Max 1 that was introduced last year as an in-line offering. The Air Max 1 Mid Deluxe appearing in a higher silhouette assembled from more durable materials projects a combative aesthetic, whilst retaining the stylish comfort of the original Air Max 1 build.
The Air Max 1 Mid Deluxe appears in it’s most functional guise to keep your feet warm and dry for the remainder of Winter. The premium upper is constructed from smooth black leather panels accented with dark, earthy blackroot brown suede overlays at the sidewalls, a blackroot brown tonally embossed suede tongue patch and a blackroot brown embroidered corporate logo on the heel, complete with a black leather swoosh overlaid across the plush suede sidewall panelling. Below the earth tones the upper panels are centred around, is a charcoal full-length PU midsole with a visible Air-Sole unit in the heel for premium cushioning underfoot completing the boot influenced aesthetic of this updated AM1. The premium QS offering is concluded with a black rubber waffle outsole for durable traction.
The Nike Air Max 1 Mid Deluxe Quickstrike in Black/Blackroot is now available in-store and online at Wellgosh RRP £123.95. The luxury approach to the Nike Air Max 1 is available in limited numbers under the Quickstrike bracket. Cop yours sooner rather later to avoid disappointment.
