This week’s ‘Trainer of the Week’ is the Nike Air Trainer SC II PRM QS in Faded Olive/Black which has been dubbed the ‘Bo’s Bows and Arrows’ referring to Bo Jackson’s love of the outdoors, particularly archery; conveyed through the archery inspired palette and outdoor-ready tooling that this rendition of the Nike Air Trainer SC II has been updated with for Holiday 2014.
The Nike Air Trainer SC II PRM QS ‘Bo’s Bows and Arrows’ appears in an outdoor, winter-ready build stepping away from a clean baseball aesthetic for a more rugged construction portraying Bo Jackson’s Southern roots. The palette is derived from a classic hunter jacket aesthetic through the olive nubuck base and orange quilted collar and lining. The digital camouflage accent on the midsole is a visual reference to 8-bit video game ‘Bo Jackson Baseball’ released for the Nintendo Commodore.
The new rendition of the iconic signature Baseball model retains the infamous profile updated with a new colour-up and construction. The faded olive premium nubuck base and tongue are accented with pops of hyper crimson on the cross-foot strap’s base, swoosh shadow and Jackson’s jersey number ’34’ that appears on the heel in pixelated digits and luxurious, quilted, neoprene ankle collar. Stark hits of black are contrasted against the bright crimson accents, apearing on the full-grain leather swoosh, midsole, and eye-stay, branded, velcro, medial strap, rigid heel counter and nylon sidewall overlays. Underfoot the sole unit is accented with a digi-camo motif that runs the length of the classically constructed sole unit that features a visible air unit in the heel. The digital camo print is reiterated framing the collar on the rich coloured mid-top baseball style.
The Nike Air Trainer SC II PRM QS in ‘Bo’s Bows and Arrows’ in Faded Olive/Black is now available in limited quantities due to it being a Quick Strike release at Wellgosh. RRP £113.95.
